Volunteer for our Summer Lunch Program!

Only have extra time during the summer months?  Volunteer to help our Summer Lunch Program prepare and distribute lunches to 11 sites and more then 400 children per day throughout the months of June, July and August.

  • Shifts include meal prep, meal distribution for breakfast (beginning at 7:30 am), meal service for both breakfast (9:15 am) and lunch (usually a 2 hour commitment beginning as early as 10:30 and running until about 1 – these times are site dependent).
  • Email summerlunch@thehrdc.org to find out more information about volunteering with Summer Lunch.

Special Projects!

Do you have specific skills or talents you would like to share with us? We would love to hear your ideas! We are currently looking for:

  • Someone with a passion for photography who can take pictures of the food bank, our volunteers and staff to help share our story.
  • Someone who loves creating delicious and nutritious meals. We have recipes in our store for clients to take home. We would love a volunteer to regularly update the recipes based on what we have in the store and create a creative and inviting display of meal ideas.

Interested in helping out but don’t know where to start? First visit our Volunteer Portal and if you still have questions contact Bri Cronin, our volunteer coordinator!

Send an email to volunteer@gallatinvalleyfoodbank.org

Or call the Food Bank at 586.7600 and ask to speak to Bri Cronin, our Volunteer Coordinator in person!
