DESCRIPTION:Each year\, letter carriers across the country head out on their routes on the second Saturday in May to collect donations of non-perishable food items to benefit local food pantries. Since launching in 1993\, the National Association of Letter Carriers’ annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive has grown into the nation’s largest one-day food drive\, helping to fill the shelves of food banks in cities and towns throughout the United States. \nTo participate\, simply leave your donation of non-perishable food in a bag near your mailbox on May 11\, and your letter carrier will do the rest! \nOur wish list (please see more information below): \n\nCanned fruit and vegetables\nCanned soup\nCanned tomato products\nPeanut butter\, 16oz\nPasta\nCereal\nRice\nPantry staples like flour\, sugar\, oil\, and spices\nMasa harina\nGranola bars\nCanned diced green chiles\nShelf-stable milk\nNonperishable microwavable meals (ramen\, easy mac\, etc.)\n\nFoods we cannot use in our store: \n\nCanned goods older than 2 years past expiration/best by date\nDry goods older than 1 year past expiration/best by date\nDented cans\nCandy\nAlcohol
